This is a movie by Yash Raj Films and directed by Aditya Chopra. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, with supporting cast of Om Puri, Seema Biswas, Lara Dutta and Boman Irani. The film tells the story of two strangers who fall in love without meeting each other. The female protagonist is Naina Catherine Kapur (Anushka Sharma), a middle class girl from Delhi who lives with her maternal uncle and family after her mother's death while the male protagonist is Sameer Vidyarthi (Shah Rukh Khan) a successful architect from Mumbai working for his father's architectural company. They meet each other at a train station where Sameer buys a ticket from Naina. Suddenly, Sameer suffers from a heart attack and collapses on the ground. The train then leaves the station without Naina knowing that he is inside. A few days later, Sameer's father meets with Naina's father to arrange the marriage of their children, as both fathers are old friends. Naina is not happy with this decision, so she decides to find out more about Sameer before agreeing to marry him. She secretly visits Mumbai and goes looking for Sameer without revealing her identity. Eventually, she gets introduced to his secretary, Tina Oberoi (Lara Dutta), who tells her about Sameer's past relationships. The movie was released on 6 November 2013. On the first day of the release, its opening weekend box office collection was $1.5 million. The film opened to an average response at the box office. The film collected around $3 million in its opening weekend, including $950,000 from West Asian territories. The film collected around $7 million in India and around $1.2 million in overseas territories, with a worldwide gross of approximately $9 million (including an additional ~$500K from Sikhote-Alin, Russia). It is Yash Raj Films' highest-grossing movie in overseas territories. The film received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics. "Times of India" gave the movie 3/5 stars, praising the performance of SRK and the "outstanding cinematography". Critics have praised its music by A.R. Rahman, but "Daily News and Analysis" gave it 3/5 stars for its music which was criticised for being too soft instrumentally at times, but also praised his team's efforts. The movie also received an average response to its screenplay by Aditya Chopra's script which has been heavily criticised for being banal and just a love story with no real content or insight into its characters or situations.
